Shoulder Jukes 101
There are 3 Major Shoulder movements in basketball. Understanding how to use your shoulders is essential to slipping past your defenders, powering past them and shifting them laterally. Shoulder Jukes 101 introduces the natural movements needed to understand all 3 Shoulder moves: Release, Tuck, and Shrug. We break down the Shoulders without the basketball in hand first and then we build the progressions of skills and drills beyond. Players are introduced to tempo and learn how to look up at the same time. Students play mini-games with other players or themselves to build competitive play with a specific skill in mind.
The course introduces agility movements to build coordination actions related to on court basketball moves. In addition, players will be exposed to indirect distractions to improve their court awareness at the same time.
The last 15 minutes of the course previews the beginning of the next courses that students can enroll in. This will hopefully encourage them to practice the worksheet that they are given and also the personal video tutorial they can follow on our youtube channel.
Students need to bring a ball and wear basketball attire.
