Triple Threat 101
The Triple Threat is one the most needed Fundamentals of all. Players who understand the position of being able to pass, dribble and shoot out of this are extremely dangerous to opponents. Perimeter players and post players learn in this course how they can easily read the defense and make strong moves against them whether they jump stopped to catch the ball or caught it in a 1 – 2 run stop. Triple Threat 101 teaches the “natural triple threat” and the “axe triple threat” and the initial options out of them. We break down the Footwork, Core Agility, Shoulder Jukes/ Balance and the ball handling without the basketball in hand first and then we build the progressions of skills and drills beyond. Players are introduced to pivot and swing feet balance while reading primary defender. Students play mini-games with other players or themselves to build competitive play with a specific skill in mind.
The course introduces agility movements to build coordination actions related to on court basketball moves. In addition, players will be exposed to indirect distractions to improve their court awareness at the same time.
The last 15 minutes of the course previews the beginning of the next courses that students can enroll in. This will hopefully encourage them to practice the worksheet that they are given and also the personal video tutorial they can follow on our youtube channel.
